The SDA and SCL connections on the GPIO header aren't required for the RPi3. On the RPi3, the Official 7" Touchscreen uses i2c-0, which is passed through the ribbon "Display Connector", so the I2C bus isn't used for touch functionality via the header. Why did you connect the green and yellow wires in the video even though you're using an RPi3?

Interesting video – thanks for putting it up. However all the zooming in and out was off putting. Also I don't get why all the unused electronics was shown. One word of caution – many cans of 'air duster' do not contain air but LPG. LPG and electronics get on like a house on fire. Overall your video has helped me select a direction. Thanks

Great video thanks for the help! Only concern is, shouldn't it be pins 2 and 6 (5V and GRD) instead of 2 and 8? Also what are the green and yellow wires for?

I got the same Setup. One issue is that the Content is rotated 180 degree, if you use Standard X Setup. 🙁

Thanks for the screen-wiring set-up. Much appreciated as other wiring "recommendations" didn't work. Now I'm powered up and ready to go.
    Cheers
